LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has stepped up enforcement against businesses violating the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS), serving notices to more than 70 hotels, restaurants and marquees across the province in the past two days. According to a PRA spokesperson, enforcement officers have also fined several restaurants that continued to breach E-IMS requirements despite receiving notices. The digital system aims to improve transparency in business transactions, strengthen tax monitoring and ensure accurate documentation of sales. Businesses meeting the prescribed sales threshold are required to issue electronic receipts through the E-IMS.
