September 30 is the last date for filing annual income tax returns for the tax year, while the extended hours are intended to provide taxpayers with additional time to complete their tax payments before the deadline. FBR directs field offices to remain open late In a communication to chief commissioners of Inland Revenue, the FBR directed all Large Taxpayers’ Offices (LTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) to observe extended working hours on September 30 until 10:00pm. The directive aims to facilitate taxpayers completing the required procedures and depositing government duties and taxes on the final day of the return filing period.
