From: 2021-12-24 - To: 0000-00-00 An Act to provide for the establishment of Ghazi National Institute of Engineering and Sciences, Dera Ghazi Khan It is necessary to provide for the establishment of the Ghazi National Institute of Engineering and Sciences, Dera Ghazi Khan in the private sector, and to provide for the ancillary matters. Be it enacted by Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as follows: 1. Short title and commencement.– (1) This Act may be cited as the Ghazi National Institute of Engineering and Sciences, Dera Ghazi Khan Act 2021. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Definitions.– In this Act: (a) “Academic Council” means the Academic Council of the Institute; (b) “Authority” means an Authority of the Institute specified in section 17 of this Act; (c) “Board” means the Board of Governors of the Institute; (d) “Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the Institute; (e) “Commission” means the Higher Education Commission established under the Higher Education Commission Ordinance 2002 (LIII of 2002); (f) “Controller” means the Controller of Examinations of the Institute; (g) “constituent college” means a college maintained and administered by the Institute; (h) “Dean” means head of a Faculty of the institute; (i) “department” means a teaching department maintained and administered by the Institute in the prescribed manner; (j) “Faculty” means an administrative and academic unit of the Institute consisting of one or more departments or constituent colleges as may be prescribed; (k) “Foundation” means the Universal Youth Foundation registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 (XXI of 1860); (l) “Government” means Government of the Punjab; (m) “head of department” means the head of a department or principal of a constituent college; (n) “Higher Education Commission” means Punjab Higher Education Commission set up under the Punjab Higher Education Commission Act 2014 (I of 2015); (o) “Institute” means the Ghazi National Institute of Engineering and Sciences, Dera Ghazi Khan established under this Act; (p) “Patron” means Governor of the Punjab; (q) “prescribed” means prescribed by the rules, statutes or regulations made…
