From: 2018-03-20 - To: 0000-00-00 An Act for the establishment of Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore. It is necessary in public interest to make provisions for the establishment of Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore inter alia to undertake research and development for purposes of producing high quality technical human resource to cope with the present day requirements; and, to make incidental provisions. Be it enacted by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as follows: CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement.– (1) This Act may be cited as the Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore Act 2018. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Definitions.– In this Act: (a) “Academic Council” means the Academic Council of the University; (b) “Act” means the Punjab Tianjin University of Technology Lahore Act 2018; (c) “affiliated college” means a college or an institute affiliated with the University; (d) “Authority” means an Authority of the University; (e) “Chairperson” means the head of an academic department and includes the Principal of a constituent college or Director of an institute; (f) “Chancellor” means the Chancellor of the University; (g) “Commission” means Higher Education Commission set up under the Higher Education Commission Ordinance, 2002 (LIII of 2002); (h) “constituent college” means a college maintained and administered by the University; (i) “Controller of Examinations” means the Controller of Examinations of the University; (j) “Dean” means the head of a Faculty of the University; (k) “department” means a teaching, research or technological department maintained and administered by the University in the prescribed manner; (l) “Faculty” means an administrative and academic unit of the University consisting of one or more departments, institutes or constituent colleges; (m) “Government” means Government of the Punjab; (n) “institute” means an institute established, maintained and administered by the University; (o) “prescribed” means prescribed by the Rules, Statutes or Regulations; (p) “Pro-Chancellor” means the Pro-Chancellor of the University; (q) “Pro-Vice Chancellor” means the Pro-Vice Chancellor of…
