SROS: CIRCULAR-LETTER NO: 5393-S(IT-I)/85 DATED: 07/11/1985 MAINTENANCE OF RECORDS IN INCOME TAX OFFICES -- DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST THE NEGLIGENT OFFICERS/OFFICIALS -- INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING CIRCULAR-LETTER NO: 5393-S(IT-I)/85 DATED: 07/11/1985 GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN CENTRAL BOARD OF REVENUE Islamabad, the 7th November, 1985 SUBJECT: MAINTENANCE OF RECORDS IN INCOME TAX OFFICES -- DISCIPLINARY ACTION AGAINST THE NEGLIGENT OFFICERS/OFFICIALS -- INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING. A complaint was filed with the Wafaqi Mohtasib by a tax-payer drawing income from salary against inordinate delay in the issuance of refund by the department. While disposing of this complaint the Wafaqi Mohtasib made the following observations:-- the circumstances of the case speak abundantly of the neglect and inattention of the functionaries of the income-tax department; so much so that hope that the Income Tax Department would also appreciate if the officers responsible for the maintenance of records and issuance of refund are taken to task as their inefficiency is bound to mar the image of the income-tax department in the eyes of the public in general. 2.
