The announcement came through Circular No. 4 of 2025-26, offering relief to taxpayers who were initially required to complete their return filing by September 30. The decision to grant an extension followed numerous appeals from trade bodies, professional associations, and taxpayers who cited difficulties in completing their return filing obligations on time.
