(a) West Pakistan Industrial and Commercial Employment (Standing Orders) Ordinance (VI of 1968)-- ---S.0.10--West Pakistan Shops and Establishments Ordinance (VIII of 1969), Ss.8 & 9--Increment--Special increment granted to employee by employer was subsequently stopped by employer--Stoppage of increment, held, amounted to reduction in pay which was a sort of punishment and which could not be inflicted save in accordance with provision of law. (b) West Pakistan Shops and Establishments Ordinance (VIII of 1969)-- ---S.9--Overtime--Employee had been sitting in office late for two hours after office hours till his officer used to sit--Evidence available not showing that employee used to sit/work for lesser overtime--Officer with whom he used to sit admitted that employee was asked to sit/work late hours but made contradictory statements--Overtime for which employee worked was in excess of forty-eight hours a week and as such he was entitled to double rate of pay fur period he worked overtime--Order passed accordingly. DECISION This appeal is directed against the order of learned Presiding Office Sind Labour Court No.IV at Karachi, dated 9-1-1988. 2. The facts of the case are that the respondent was working with the appellant. He was first appointed as Stenographer on 16-9-1981 On 1-5-1983 he was promoted as Secretary and was also asked to work with the executively Director at two places viz. at the Site Office in the morning and at the Head Office in the evening. He was granted special inconvenience allownace of Rs.420 p.m. and special increment of Rs.220 p.m. This special increment of Rs.220 was discontinued from 1-1-1986 on the ground that his work was not found satisfactory against which the respondent made several representations. On 23-6-1987 the respondent claimed Overtime for working extra hours after office time with the Executive Director.
