Section:
Section 80P of the Income-tax Act 1961 - Deductions - Income of Co-operative societies - Assessment year 1971-72 - Assessee, a co-operative society, claimed under section 80P(2) exemption of its income from credit sales to its member - Whether in view of finding of Tribunal that no income was derived by assessee from its activity of selling goods on credit, assessee was not entitled to exemption - Held, yes FACTS The assessee was a co-operative society.
