(a) Educational institutions----Disciplinary action against students-Natural justice, principle of­ Opportunity of hearing-Petitioners students charged for misconduct by rioting becoming aware of accusation against them and after putting up of initial notices on boards of University contacting Secretary of Discipline Committee (a Professor and Director of Students affairs) but thereafter intentionally failing to appear before Discipline Committee ­Petitioners, held, rightly not permitted by High Court to agitate point of violation of principle of natural justice in its writ jurisdiction-Law declared by Supreme Court, held further, does not require any formal notice to be served on petitioners and their becoming aware of proceed­ings to be conducted by Discipline Committee enough, nor framing of formal charge-sheet or formal examination of witnesses in petitioners' presence and affording them opportunity of cross-exami­nation necessary.-[Malik Abdul Majid v.
