📌 Case Summary The petitioners, legal heirs of the late owner of a residential property in Karachi, challenged a show-cause notice issued by Karachi Port Trust (KPT) alleging unauthorized occupation of the property. They contended that they were already recognized as lawful heirs through a Letter of Administration issued by the High Court, and therefore the notice was illegal, without jurisdiction, and violative of natural justice. KPT argued that the petitioners should first approach its Grievance Redressal Committee for proper hearing. During proceedings, both parties agreed to resolve the matter through the internal committee mechanism. The Court disposed of the petition by directing that the petitioners be given a fair hearing by the KPT Grievance Redressal Committee, which would submit recommendations to the competent authority for a final decision. Meanwhile, no coercive action was allowed against the petitioners. 📚 Sections / Laws Used Article 199 (Constitution of Pakistan, 1973) Principles of Natural Justice Due Process Doctrine (implied constitutional principle) 🧾 2 Two-Word Case Descriptions Inheritance Dispute Due Process         O R D E R Petitioner has filed this petition under Article 199 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973 seeking the following relief(s):- “(a) Declare that the Impugned Show Cause Notice dated 24 September 2024 (Annexure H) was issued with mala fide intent and without lawful authority (b) Declare that the Impugned Show Cause Notice dated 24 September 2024 (Annexure H) is arbitrary, mala fide, coram nonjudice, and without jurisdiction, in addition to being unlawful and unreasonable; Declare that the Petitioners are the lawful co-owners of the Subject Property and have legal inheritance rights thereto.
