Section: 199
Summary The petitioners, a Pakistani family residing in Dubai, challenged NADRA's blocking of their CNICs under Article 199 of the Constitution. They argued that despite fulfilling all requirements and successfully unblocking the CNIC of the head of the family, the CNICs of the wife, son, and minor children remained blocked, causing difficulties in education, residency, and other fundamental rights. NADRA stated that the family was under suspicion and that verification remained incomplete because the petitioners failed to provide historical family record documents required under the Ministry of Interior Notification dated 05.01.2018. NADRA assured the Court that the case would be processed if the petitioners appeared before the Verification & Registration (V&R) Branch with the required documents. The Court directed the petitioners to approach the V&R Branch, submit the outstanding documents, and ordered NADRA to process the case in accordance with law and unblock the CNICs without unnecessary delay. The petition was disposed of accordingly.
