Summary: Seven accused, including Adnan Ali, Inayat-ur-Rehman, and Wahidullah, filed bail applications challenging their arrests in connection with kidnapping and police encounter cases in Karachi. The incident involved online luring of the victim Abdullah for purported travel to Italy, followed by abduction from Lal Qila, Bahadurabad, and illegal confinement at Baldia Town. During a police raid, two victims were recovered, weapons were seized, and incriminating evidence, including indecent videos of victims, was recovered from Adnan Ali. Identification parades confirmed the accused’s involvement, and independent witnesses corroborated the prosecution’s story. The court found sufficient incremental and corroborative evidence connecting the accused to the offences, including illegal arms possession and participation in the abduction. Given the seriousness of the offences—punishable under the prohibitory clause of Section 497(1) Cr.P.C., which includes death or life imprisonment—the bail applications were dismissed. Observations were made tentatively for bail purposes only and do not prejudice the trial.
