1. Background
- Petitioner Shamim Aslam was convicted by the Trial Court in FIR No. 1386/2024 under Section 489-F PPC (dishonest cheque).
He was sentenced to:
- 3 years simple imprisonment
- Fine Rs. 20,000
- Benefit of Section 382-B Cr.P.C.

2. Prosecution Story
- Complainant Muhammad Junaid claimed:
- He gave Rs. 69,00,000 to the accused as investment in an oil distribution business.
- On ending the partnership, the accused gave him cheque No. 64507981 of Rs. 69,00,000.
- Cheque was dishonoured on 28.08.2023 due to insufficient funds.
- FIR was lodged after more than one year (30.11.2024), with unexplained delay.
