Summary:
The petitioner, after contracting marriage against her family’s wishes, sought writ protection from police harassment. The Court held that she has an adequate alternate remedy under Section 22-A Cr.P.C. before the Ex-Officio Justice of Peace or under the Police Order, 2002. Since alternate remedies exist, the High Court declined to exercise writ jurisdiction and dismissed the petition in limine.
