Summary of Judgment

The petitioner, a widow of a deceased Pakistan Railways employee, sought the release of Rs. 5,000,000/- under the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package (in lieu of a plot) for families of government employees who die in service. While other service benefits had been paid, this particular benefit was withheld. The respondents confirmed that the case for payment had been prepared, was on the priority list, and would be processed once funds were released from headquarters.

Order:
The Court directed the respondents to process and disburse the payment of Rs. 5,000,000/- to the petitioner within three months as per her eligibility and disposed of the petition in terms of the respondents’ commitment.
